Adoptions Support Associate  ||  WITH
Want to help animals - dogs, cats, and small mammals – find their “forever homes?”  Help to match a potential adopter with their new best friend and life long companion.  Adoption Associates perform a variety of duties including greeting and directing shelter visitors, assisting potential adopters with meeting adoptable animals, reviewing adoption information with clients, and answering the telephones.  Position requires a regular weekly schedule.

Offsite Adoption Associate  ||  WITH
Want to assist with adoptions at different partner locations throughout our community?    Find “forever homes” for animals at interesting locations.  Offsite Adoption Associates help with adoptions while furthering community education and promotion of the APL.  Position requires one shift per month, primarily on the weekends.

Dog Enrichment Volunteer (D.E.V.)  ||  WITH
Need some outdoor exercise, and want to spend some quality time with a canine companion? DEV’s walk, or run, if you prefer, with dogs while providing socialization and training to help the dogs to help them remain adoptable or become potentially adoptable while waiting to find their “forever home.”  There are 3 different levels of DEV available to suit your goals.  Requires a regularly weekly schedule.

Cat Care Volunteer (CCV)  ||  WITH
Want to help provide some TLC and a clean healthy home for our cats?  CC volunteers socialize, enrich, groom, feed, water, and clean feline kennels at our shelter.  Requires a regular weekly schedule.

Special Event Associate  ||  FOR
Want to help with fun, fund-raising events to raise monies to support our animals?  Special Event Associates provide support for our fund-raising events, festivals, booths, mailings and more.  Two major fund-raising events are the Fur Ball and Pledge for Pets Radiothon.  Each event has its own variety of unique volunteer assignments.   Join a committee or work event day itself – it’s your choice.

Development Associate  ||  FOR
Have office skills or development experience that you would like to share or gain?  Development Associates help with donor mailings, gift processing, grant writing, assignments that support events, and cultivation of all donations.  Assignments based upon skill level and interest.  Position requires a weekly weekday commitment. 

Adoption Follow Up Program Associate  ||  FOR
Want to help continue to support the human – animal bond after adoption?  Adoptions Follow Up Program Associates contact adopters approximately 7-10 days following adoption to provide continued support to clients after adopting an animal from the shelter.   In addition, we monitor the animal’s health, behavior and adjustment to its new home, providing education to the client as necessary.   Calls must be made onsite at the APL due to onsite database.  Position requires a regular weekly schedule.
