ANIMAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT ORDINANCES
According to Section 959.13 of the Ohio Revised Code:
No person shall:
- Torture an animal
- Unnecessarily or cruelly beat, mutilate, injure, or kill an animal
- Impound or confine an animal without supplying it with a sufficient quantity of wholesome food and water
- Deprive an animal of necessary sustenance
- Carry an animal in a cruel or inhumane manner
- Confine an animal without affording it access to shelter from the wind, rain, snow, or excessive sunlight if it can reasonably be expected that the animal would otherwise become sick or in some other way suffer. (Shelter is defined as an artificial enclosure, windbreak, or sun-shade)
- Abandon a dog, cat, or other domestic animal if the person is the
keeper of the animal
