The Cleveland APL is ending Adopt a Shelter Cat Month with a holiday
BANG!
As announced last week, the Cleveland Animal Protective League is
celebrating Adopt a Shelter Cat Month by telling adopters to “pick their price” and name their own
adoption fee for all adult cats. Adopt an adult cat five months or older today through Friday, July 1st, and
you tell us the adoption fee! Kittens are $50 for one and $20 for a second through July 1st.
Then, in celebration of Independence Day—Feline Independence Day, that is—on Saturday July 2nd
only, all adult cats will be available for adoption for only $4.00! All kittens under five months will
be available for adoption for only $17.76. Any second cat or kitten is only $20.00. Each adoption will
also include a free starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet pet food, a collar, and an engraved, personalized
identification tag (courtesy of grant provided by the ASPCA). (Regular adoption fees for cats are $45 for
adults (5 months and older) and $95 for kittens (under 5 months).
“It’s time to celebrate Independence Day; however our freedom is something we often take for granted as
citizens of the United States, meanwhile our cats aren’t so fortunate,” said Cleveland APL’s Executive
Director Sharon Harvey. “The Cleveland APL is a wonderful temporary residence for animals in need,
but it’s not home. These cats deserve independence from shelter life! Adopt a cat today and give the gift
of liberty and happiness to a wonderful new family member—you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner!
These reduced fees will be honored at both the Cleveland APL on Willey Avenue in Tremont as well as
the Petco in Mentor (7721 Mentor Ave) where the APL will be celebrating Kittens ‘n Canines on
Saturday from 11am to 2pm with our mobile adoption unit, Rover, full of wonderful adoptable animals!
All animals are spayed-neutered, tested for heartworm or FELV/FIV, have received age appropriate vaccinations
and treatments of worms and fleas, and come with a collar and APL ID tag, helpful species-specific animal care
information, and free initial veterinary exam. Cats/Kittens come with a travel box, and dogs/puppy adoptions
include a leash. |
